Do you ever feel like you just need to detox and go for a long run? That’s how I felt last weekend after the Fourth of July.

“Oh, say can you see…” |
In the car ride back from a two day concert and lots of unhealthy eating, I suddenly realized that I signed up for a 5K on August 9th which is in approximately five weeks from now!! Have I been running? Not at all! I furiously searched online for a beginners running program. Now, I am not a total couch potato, I drag myself to the gym at least 3 times a week, do yoga and bike on my own time, but I am definitely not what you would call a “runner.”
Follow my journey for the next few weeks as I reach my goal as a 5K runner. Beyond the fitness and vanity part, I think that everybody who is able should run because it makes you feel good. I’m talking about those endorphins that give you a confidence boost and a feeling that you can conquer the world with a smile. And also, I feel pretty badass when I know I had a good workout. This is what keeps me going.
Here is the plan I am following via LIVESTRONG.com: http://www.livestrong.com/article/557639-running-101-a-5k-training-plan-for-beginners/
