Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it’s important to make good choices, right? I’ve been choosing from only two breakfast options for the past two years: Oatmeal, blueberries and cinnamon OR eggs, tomato and avocado. I think it’s time to switch it up and incorporate more protein into my breakfast.
I wake up starving and have an insatiable sweet tooth in the morning. Coffee and dark chocolate helps, but there is something about the peanut butter and chocolate combo that I LOVE. So, I’ve created a smoothie that tastes like a Reeses peanut butter cup but without all of the extra fat and cals.
Check out my delicious recipe below.
What you will need:
- PlantFusion protein powder (or your protein powder of choice)
- Just Great Stuff organic powdered peanut butter
- Navitas Naturals Cacao powder
- Almond milk
- Banana (optional for some added sweetness)
It looks like a mudslide… but so much better and more filling. When I tasted it, it instantly reminded me of my favorite childhood past time: putting my spoon into the brownie batter bowl and tasting the creamy delicious texture : ) it’s probably as close to heaven as I’ll ever get. If you lick the brownie batter bowl like me, then you’ll love this healthy alternative!
I plan on making it this week for breakfast to replace my oatmeal. Other fun recipes I might try: PlantProtein with blueberries and spinach, PlantProtein with cocoa and berries, and more! Do you have any good smoothie recipes to share? Send them my way!
