Instead of posting a recipe tonight, I wanted to try something new by writing my review of a few at-home natural beauty remedies. These quick and easy treatments were taken from Amelia Olson’s HelloGiggles article, “8 at-home natural beauty remedies you need this fall.”
Check out my personal experience with these remedies below:
Honey Cinnamon Spot Treatment:
Personal experience: I dabbed this mixture on a random blemish that showed up on my face and left it on for about fifteen minutes. While it did not do any magic or completely go away, it reduced the redness on my face and smelled delicious. No chemicals here!
Banana and Coconut Hair Mask:
Personal experience: As explained in the photo, it was tricky to mix the banana and coconut to get it clump-free. So, I put it in the microwave to melt (no more than fifteen seconds at a time) and it was a lot easier to smooth and it smelled good enough to eat! Truth is, smothering this mixture on my hair was a little challenging and messy, but I do feel like my hair is smoother and shinier now. Maybe I will just stick with a coconut oil hair mask and eat the banana next time.
Honey Sugar Lip Scrub:
Personal experience: This remedy was my favorite! I scrubbed it on my lips and it totally renewed my dry skin and flaky texture to reveal a shiny, smooth texture. It tastes delicious too. As does everything. I guess I was hungry. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed a few of these Pinterest-worthy natural remedies! I’m planning on posting more content related to this, so let me know what you think in the comments section. Don’t forget to check out @vivieimpara on Instagram for pictures.

Great info, although I’ve never tried these beauty remedies, I have been using coconut oil in a variety of ways. I cook with it, I put in my coffee, I rub it on my daughters’ skin for her eczema and on my hair daily. Banana, I pratically blend them in everything. Cinnamon, I make cinnamon tea, and as for honey, I eat a teaspoon daily for energy. I will definitely try these remedies.
Thank you for your comment I love coconut oil and it’s many benefits 🙂 Let me know how these remedies work for you!
Your welcome, will do.
On our homestead, we live a self-sustaining, natural lifestyle. I write about this on my blog. Try (instead of shampoo) mixing two containers: One with half water/half apple cider vinegar, the other with 1/2 baking soda (organic of course), and 1/2 water. twice a week in shower: Warm water on hair to wet, use the baking soda mixture on scalp, rubbing into scalp (don’t have to rub on length of hair, just the scalp). Rinse. Take the apple cider mixture and apply through hair length. Rinse with warm water.
AMAZING how much my hair looks better compared to using OTC shampoos!
