This past weekend, I went to the farmer’s market and bought a variety of heirloom tomatoes.
I love the diversity in the shape, color, size, texture, and taste of these heirlooms. Not only are they naturally eye-catching and almost impossible to resist, but they are so juicy and tasty.

These are not your basic, perfectly shaped store-bought red tomatoes.
I received so many great suggestions when I asked, “what should I make with these heirloom tomatoes?” on my Insta stories.
Here are some of the responses that I received:
- Make a delicious salad!
- Whip up an omelette
- Slice them, add salt, pepper, and balsamic glaze with fresh mozzarella and basil š
After my initial post, I also received a couple of thoughtful texts from family friends with links to recipes and suggestions, including a link to Tomato Madness: 101 Tomato Recipes.
While inspiring, I stuck to the basics. I made a caprese salad with basil, extra virgin olive oil from June’s Eattiamo box, balsamic, and added spinach for extra greens.

Just so you know, I’d like to add a knife set and cutting board to our registry, so if anyone’s still reading, please provide us with suggestions. š
Share your favorite heirloom tomato recipe with me below, and spread the love of heirlooms this season!
