Today is Friday! It’s the last day of the smoothie challenge that I created to add some variety to my meals. I added oatmeal to this cacao smoothie to make the consistency a little bit thicker and more filling.
The cool thing about smoothies is that you can mix together your favorite ingredients, blend, add more, retry and blend again. It’s all about trial and error and finding ingredients that are tasty and healthy!
What you will need:
1 cup protein powder (optional)
2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup oatmeal
2 cups berries
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp cacao nibs
My two favorite ingredients blended together are cacao powder, cacao nibs and almond milk. Just put these ingredients in a blender and you will have this decadent smoothie in a matter of seconds.
Cacao tastes like a treat but it has fiber, iron and magnesium and isn’t as sweet or sugary as milk chocolate. Almond milk is an excellent source of protein and is a great substitute for milk (Calcium!)
