Have you ever heard someone say, “Oh, I’ve been so bad today” and they’re talking about what they ate? How could food make you “so bad”?
In my Nutrition, Health, and Lifestyle: Issues and Insights class, the Nutrition instructor, Jamie Pope, MS, RD, LDN answers this common concern.
Portion control is a big issue for a lot of people. In terms of good and bad foods, Jamie Pope says,
“There’s certainly better foods, and maybe worse foods, but there’s room for almost anything if we don’t eat it in excess and too frequently.”
So, are chocolate and bread considered “bad” foods? She says, it’s all relative. It depends on how much you are consuming, how often, and what constitutes the rest of your intake because all of that plays in together.
